Volunteers are our most valuable asset to ensure the overall success of the race and after party. We greatly appreciate the many repeat volunteers from the surrounding communities, as well as all new volunteers.
If you or your organization would like to help support the race, please e-mail email@example.com
We strive to ensure all volunteers are assigned to roles which they feel comfortable and confident in accomplishing.
Volunteer Positions include the following:
Course Marking - Mark a section of the race course with markings and flags.
Course Marking Clean Up - When the race is done clean up the course markings and pick-up any trash you may find on trails.
Parking - Direct racers to parking areas before the start of the race, then you cheer on the racers and enjoy the after party.
First Aid - We always need more people keeping our racers safe, out on course or at one of the aid stations, you’re skills are always welcome.
Aid Stations - Racers need water, food, and positive encouragement. Join the aid station volunteers to cheer on and support the racers on the front lines. They are real American Heroes.
Sweep Riders - Follow the last racer on the course and make sure everyone comes home safe.
After Party - Everything from set up to feeding racers and cleaning up. Volunteers will need to be flexible and attentive to racers needs.
Registration and Check in - The week leading up to the race we need to prepare pre-race packets, organize the t-shirt and race numbers so that on Friday July 26th, 2019, we are ready to welcome our racers to Laramie and the 2019 Laramie Range Epic.
General Volunteer Info:
Volunteer check in on race day, for most positions, will be on Headquarters Rd. just off of Happy Jack Road (WYO 210) beginning at 6:00 a.m. At check-in we will have sack lunches, race crew t-shirts, maps and other information to take with you, and a waiver to sign.
Directions from Laramie, take I-80 east to exit 323. Turn towards the rest area (left) and then left onto Happy Jack Road (WYO 210). Follow Happy Jack Road for about 6 miles. Look for a sign on the right that says "Blair-Wallis" (it's actually Headquarters Road). The turn is between mileposts 31 and 32. Turn right and look for the check in tent.
Directions from Cheyenne, take Happy Jack Road (WYO 210) west out of town for about 31 miles. Look for a sign on the left that says "Blair-Wallis" (it's actually Headquarters Road). The turn is between mileposts 31 and 32. Turn left and look for the check in tent.
Bring sunscreen, bug dope, and dress for the weather. Most volunteer positions will not have shelter available. Here is a forecast for the race site.
Cell phone reception is variable throughout the course. Text messages are more reliable where reception is poor.
